Engaging in spirited dialogues over many cups of coffee, the pathway to connect with and uplift children became unmistakably clear: to forge enduring solutions within communities, laying the groundwork for children and youth to flourish through education, awareness, and strategic partnerships. Underpinning this mission was a deep dive into the realm of education—a cornerstone of the vision. Meet the Team Founder Sara Farrow Sara, the visionary Founder behind CLEAR, is driven by an unwavering dedication to uplift children and reshape their futures. Fueled by a deep-seated passion for making a difference, Sara's journey has evolved into a testament of compassion and commitment. Having nurtured the aspiration of immersing herself in non-profit endeavours for years, Sara now stands at the helm of her dream realized – CLEAR. The radiant smiles of children encountering hope and transformation bring her great joy. Sara's flair for administration and project management, taking a dream and making it actionable, is a large part of moving CLEAR forward in its initiatives. While Sara loves meeting new people, making big plans and exploring ideas on how to make a difference, she also nerds out on her lists and keeps the rest of the CLEAR team on task. In Sara’s spare time, she loves to spend time with her family (near and far), explore new places, cook delicious food and read (her Kindle is never far away.) Living in Gauteng, South Africa, Sara's life story has interwoven itself with the heartbeat of the nation. Alongside her husband, Gareth Farrow, and their two energetic boys, Michael and James, she has cultivated a home brimming with love and shared aspirations. Hailing originally from the United States, Sara's journey led her to the beauty of South Africa in 2016. As the compass guiding CLEAR's trajectory, Sara's fervent spirit continues to kindle rays of hope, illuminating the path for countless children. Her presence stands as a resounding testament to the transformative power of a dream nurtured, a passion pursued, and a life dedicated to shaping tomorrows filled with promise and purpose. Founder Lucas van Kasterop Hailing from the vibrant city of Bloemfontein in South Africa, Lucas's journey has been one of education, exploration, and a steadfast commitment to making a difference. Lucas's educational voyage took him to the University of the Free State, where he immersed himself in the world of finance and emerged with a degree that would serve as a cornerstone for his future endeavours. With a heart brimming with ambition, he ventured to Gauteng in 2013, driven by a desire to cultivate a thriving professional career. In the pursuit of personal success, Lucas encountered a profound revelation – a realization that life's true purpose extended beyond individual accomplishments. Fuelled by an unyielding passion for South Africa and its rich tapestry of cultures, Lucas recognized the potential for unity within diversity, a potent force capable of shaping a nation where every citizen thrives. Guided by an innate ability to connect the dots and foresee outcomes, Lucas embarked on a transformative path in 2016, propelled by an unwavering desire to uplift South Africa's socio-economic landscape. This journey led to the inception of Clear Africa, a registered Nonprofit organization with a resolute mission: to catalyze change in early childhood development and cultivate enduring solutions for children and youth within communities. Lucas firmly believes that every child, irrespective of their background, should be empowered to achieve their full potential. In addition to his dedication to Clear Africa, Lucas's entrepreneurial spirit also gave rise to Lodestar Financial Services, a financial consulting company that aids businesses in optimizing their internal operations. Amidst his dynamic pursuits, Lucas finds solace in the outdoors, indulging in activities such as golf, hunting, and cherishing moments spent with loved ones. Lucas Van Kasterop currently resides in Pretoria, where he continues to shape the trajectory of change through his unwavering commitment to community, education, and the enduring promise of a brighter South Africa. Marketing and Social Media Manager (volunteer basis) Tarryn Tarryn, a dedicated advocate for marketing and social media, brings her expertise to the forefront as an invaluable asset to the non-profit sector. With an impressive background in sales and marketing, she has gracefully channelled her talents towards supporting the oldest wine farm in South Africa, which happens to be a Non-Profit Company (NPC). Her heart beats for generosity and compassion, leading her to connect with like-minded individuals who share her passion for giving and making a positive impact. In the middle of 2022, Tarryn's journey intersected with Lucas, who kindled a flame of purpose within her. Their friendship bloomed, and through Lucas, she became acquainted with the inspiring mission of CLEAR. Tarryn's first-hand experience in Mamelodi, where she distributed blankets and educational resources alongside the CLEAR team, was a pivotal moment. Witnessing the transformative potential of education and outreach ignited an unquenchable desire within her to contribute even more. When the opportunity to volunteer her expertise in marketing and social media for CLEAR emerged, Tarryn's heart led the way – she wholeheartedly embraced the chance to be a driving force behind a cause she deeply believes in. Fuelled by her unwavering conviction in CLEAR's mission, Tarryn views her role as an embodiment of her commitment to the development and education of young children. A true master of problem-solving, Blessing thrives where challenges abound, relentlessly pursuing solutions where others might falter. Blessing's skill set shines as a unique gem within the CLEAR team. Beyond his aptitude for overcoming obstacles, his vibrant demeanor and joyful spirit infuse each project with a contagious energy. His heartfelt smile is a constant reminder of his commitment to the cause. Joining forces with CLEAR, Blessing has discovered a platform to translate his passion into tangible impact.
